Powerful Generator Solutions for Manufacturers

Michigan Marijuana Grower & Greenhouse Generators by Wolverine Power Systems

ADAPTED FROM GENERAC INDUSTRIAL POWER

Manufacturing is vital to the Michigan economy, accounting for a large portion of the State’s GPD and employment opportunities. Michigan manufacturers exported $52.05 billion in goods in 2016. This sector also leads in job creation with 167,000 new manufacturing jobs created since the recession. Power is a vital component to our state’s manufacturers. When the power goes out due to grid failures or weather, manufacturer’s face inventory losses, equipment failures or missed delivery dates resulting in the loss of thousands or even millions of dollars in revenue. For many processes, loss of power spoils the end product which now becomes scrap and has to be disposed.

Generac offers a vast array of backup/emergency and prime power solutions to meet manufacturer’s needs. Low kW generators are ideal for smaller manufacturers such as tool and die shops and commercial printers. At the same time, multi-megawatt solutions are designed to keep large operations running smoothly.

The Generac line of 750 kW – 2 MW industrial diesel generators combines the precise components, designed, manufactured, and supported by a single source—Generac Industrial Power. Generac controls every part of the production and testing process—engines, alternators, control systems, enclosures, and base tanks. These components are all specifically designed and built to meet the highest reliability and performance standards.

A Growing Opportunity to Consider MPS

Marijuana growing or greenhouse operations may need more flexibility and scalability for backup power. Generac’s disruptive Modular Power Systems (MPS) can easily add generators as power needs grow. Generac MPS features integrated on-generator paralleling so there is need for expensive and large third-party switchgear. This means you can purchase the kWs that meet your power needs now, and grow as needed. This allows you to invest more of your initial capital in equipment or machinery that serves your core business functions. Leading Fuel Options
With best-in-class engines for harsh environments, Generac Industrial Power diesel generators feature proven injection technology with increased tolerance for dirty fuel, common in generator applications, ensuring dependable performance.

While diesel has been the traditional fuel choice, many manufacturers are considering their carbon footprint. Should your company be considering these options, Generac manufactures generators that run on natural gas, which has significantly reduced emissions compared to diesel.

Generac also offer pioneering bi-fuel generators, which start on diesel and transition to natural gas as load is applied. This assures initial power to take the heavy starting load of motors or other equipment, while providing significantly longer runtimes and less diesel fuel storage.

Best of all, Generac understand the needs of manufacturer’s and offers incomparable 24/7/365 support and service from a proven team of experts.

Michigan Generac Generator in Winter - Wolverine Power Systems

Is Your Generator Ready for Winter?

Is your business ready for winter’s onslaught of ice storms, blizzards and the inevitable power outages the season brings? A generator can keep your vital systems up and running this winter – including your heat, computers, lights and other business-critical equipment. Maintaining your generator will ensure your generator will function during cold weather.

For reliable operation of your generator system in cold temperatures, Wolverine Power Systems is here 24/7/365.

  • Fuel system – Incorrect fueling will impact both starting and operation of your generator set. Diesel fuels are susceptible to gelling (waxing) in freezing conditions. It is important to use winter grade diesel fuel in lieu of the summer fuel where temperatures dictate. A number of manufacturers supply anti-gelling additives to treat the fuel and prevent crystals from forming at low temperatures. Some fuel conditioners lower the freeze point of any water in the fuel, which helps to prevent damage caused by ice forming in the fuel lines.
  • Ventilation – Where accumulation of ice and snow are expected, the set should be installed in a suitable enclosure with adequate openings for air ventilation. In locations where there is blowing snow and ice, moveable louvers can seal the openings.
  • Air Cleaner Location – To avoid ice building up in the air cleaner, ensure the air intake of the air cleaner is located in an area that receives re-circulated warm engine room air.
