Are you prepared?
Last week’s power outages left scores of homes and businesses without power for days. However, if your location was running on back-up power generators during that time, now is a good time to review your power needs.
Do you have enough back-up power?
Businesses might already have a generator but in some cases it was installed before an expansion or adding new, power hungry equipment. Their power consumption increased while the back-up power did not keep up with the increased load. Besides scaling back on services and loss of production, an undersized generator is costly as it can shorten the life of the generator and can lead to engine damage.
More damaging weather predicted.
If your generator has been running for long periods of time during the extended power outages, it may be time for maintenance. Be proactive in checking over the generator before a major breakdown occurs.
